Can I visit without an appointment?
No. Please request a visit and wait for confirmation before arriving.
Is this a zoo?
No. This is a small porcupine-care and appointment-based visitor programme within Ti-Ratana Cheras.
Can I touch the porcupines?
Only if specifically permitted by the responsible caretaker. Never reach through fencing.
Can I feed the porcupines?
Feeding is allowed only with the express permission and direct guidance of the resident nun, who is the porcupines’ primary caregiver. Use only food she approves. Feeding is not guaranteed during a visit.
Are there cats and dogs?
A small number of cats and dogs already live within the Ti-Ratana Cheras compound. They are resident animals already under care and may occasionally approach visitors.
Can I bring my cat, dog or another animal to Ti-Ratana Cheras?
No. Ti-Ratana Cheras is not a public animal surrender or intake facility. Please do not bring or leave animals at the centre unless prior written arrangements have been made with the responsible Ti-Ratana personnel.
But there are cats and dogs. Does that mean you accept animals?
No. The cats and dogs currently living within the compound are resident animals already under care. Their presence does not mean that additional animals can be accepted.
I have a severe cat or dog allergy. Can I still visit?
Please contact us before booking. Cats and dogs live within parts of the compound and may approach visitors, so the site may not be suitable for people with severe animal allergies.
Can I avoid the cats and dogs completely?
Not necessarily. They may move freely through some outdoor areas. Please contact the centre before visiting if this is a concern.
Can school groups visit?
By prior arrangement. Include the group size and number of children in your request.
Is there an entrance fee?
Please ask the centre about arrangements before visiting. No entrance fee is published here.
Can I take photographs?
Follow the instructions given during your visit. Respect the animals and other visitors, and do not photograph private residential areas.
